Millennium Marine Contractors were hired by Dyer and Butler . On both sides of the River Dart new slipways were constructed behind a coffer dam of sheet piles. On completion of the new slipway the sheet piles had to be cut to the profile of the new slipways, this was achieved below water with divers using burning torches. The redundant piles were lifted clear by crane.
